This is an illustration of how the knife
is used. In this case, it was added to an existing
machine configuration to expand it's capabilities instead of replace the
original cutter. The machine originally consisted of two guillotine cutters to
cut the package across the machine and rotating slitters to cut the
package along the machine travel. The addition of our Cross Cut
Knife enabled the package to be cut into four packages
across the machine. Added slitters enabled additional cutting along the
film travel direction.
New custom tooling and the Cross Cut
Knife turned their 2 x 3 package layout (6 packages) into a 4 x 6 package
layout (24 packages), greatly increasing productivity and machine
usability. |
